Privacy policy

This policy explains how we collect, use and protect personal information when you use the Wildpaws website and app (the service). Wildpaws is an adventure app made for families to enjoy together, so we’ve written this to be as clear as we can for the parents and guardians who set it up and use it.

By using the service, you agree to the collection and use of information in line with this policy. If you have any questions, please contact us using the details at the end.

Who we are

The service is provided by RED BULLET WEB DESIGN LIMITED who collects, uses, and is responsible for certain personal information about you. When we do so we are regulated under the General Data Protection Regulation which applies across the European Union (including in the United Kingdom) and we are responsible as ‘controller’ of that personal information for the purposes of those laws.

Data Controller: Red Bullet of The Buttery, Highland Court Farm, Bridge, Canterbury CT4 5HW. ICO Registration Number: ZA223830

If you want to get in touch about your data or this policy, you can reach us at team@wildpaws.app.

The information we collect

We only ask for the information we actually need to run the service. This includes:

Account and contact details, such as your name and email address, when you set up an account or sign up to the Wildpaws club.
Information you give us, such as your general region when you sign up, or anything you send us when you get in touch.
Technical and usage data, such as your device type, operating system, app settings and basic information about how the service is used, which helps us keep it working and improve it.
Log data, which is collected automatically if the app runs into an error, and can include your device IP address, device name, operating system version, and the time and date of use.

How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and run the service, including your account and adventures.
  • Keep the service working, fix problems and improve it over time.
  • Send you club updates about new adventures and rewards, where you’ve asked us to.
  • Respond to you when you get in touch.

Our legal bases for using your information under UK data protection law are: performing our contract with you to provide the service, your consent for marketing emails, and our legitimate interests in keeping the service running and improving it.

Children’s privacy

Wildpaws is designed for families to use together, including primary-aged children. The app is set up and owned by a parent or guardian, who holds the account, and we ask that an adult creates and manages it. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.

We’ve built Wildpaws with children in mind and follow the principles of the UK’s Age Appropriate Design Code. We only ask for the minimum information we need, we never sell children’s data, and we never use it for targeted advertising.

If you’re a parent or guardian and you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us at team@wildpaws.app and we’ll remove it.

Location

Wildpaws adventures are story and time-based. The app does not collect, track or store your location, and does not use GPS to run an adventure.

The Wildpaws club and emails

If you join the Wildpaws club, we’ll use your email to send you updates about new adventures, challenges and rewards. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email, or by contacting us. We won’t send you marketing without your consent.

Purchases

Wildpaws offers a free version and an optional paid subscription. Any payments are handled directly by the Apple App Store or Google Play under their own terms and privacy policies. We don’t collect or store your card or payment details.

Third party services and sharing

We use trusted third party providers to help us run the service, for example app and analytics tools such as Google Play Services and Google Analytics for Firebase. These providers can access personal information only to perform tasks on our behalf, and are required not to use it for any other purpose.

We do not sell your personal information. We only share it where it’s needed to provide the service, or where we’re required to by law.

International data transfers

Some of our providers process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where data is transferred outside the UK, we take steps to make sure it’s protected to a standard consistent with UK data protection law.

Cookies and similar technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to help it work, keep it secure and understand how it’s used. These include:

  • Analytics cookies from Google Analytics, which help us understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
  • Cookies set by Cloudflare, which helps keep the site secure and running smoothly.
  • Cookies from Adobe Fonts, used to display the site’s fonts correctly.
  • Cookies set when you use our signup form, including any spam and bot protection on it.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work properly if you disable them. Where required, we’ll ask for your consent to non-essential cookies, such as analytics, before they are set.

Security

We take the security of your information seriously and use reasonable measures to protect it. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, so while we do our best to protect your information, we can’t guarantee absolute security.

How long we keep your information

We keep your personal information only for as long as we need it to provide the service and for the purposes set out in this policy, or for as long as the law requires. When we no longer need it, we’ll delete it or make it anonymous.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. To exercise any of these, contact us at team@wildpaws.app.
